There are many affectionate names assigned to this months full moon including Honey Moon, Mead Moon, Full Rose Moon, Birth Moon, Blackberry Moon, Hot Moon and Planting Moon according to many sources of Native cultures, Tribal traditions, and the Old Farmer’s Almanac.
This months Strawberry Supermoon brings a lot of inspiration and harmonious energies, more so than what we typically see or feel during full moons. So some of us may be feeling more inspired and motivated to take charge of the things in our lives we have felt lesser in control with. This time, we are given the freedom to be in the driver’s seat, to make the best of things, no matter what life throws at us.
We are now in Cancer season, and Cancer energies have us wrapped up into our heart spaces, reminiscing, and diving deep into all of the “feels”. Sometimes that can bring with it, an illusion or unrealistic perception of what we think people feel about us. We can become tempted to fall down into a rabbit hole of despair, depression, or apathy during heartbreaks or moments of grief. But this Strawberry Supermoon is here to say, “not on my watch!”. In a symbolic sense, just as this beautiful full moon illuminates the night sky with silvery glow, it illuminates our thinking to help us elevate our perceptions relating to the way we emotionally relate to situations we are going through.
Capricorn energies of this Supermoon help us get down to the nitty gritty but from a place of critical thinking and practical application. We can expect to have more inner dialogue with our higher self that speaks to us like a motivational life coach. It’s time to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and others. There’s no room for a victim mentality. That is limiting and just keeps us caged by ideas that we need someone or something else to save us. It’s time we realize we are the only ones who can come to our own rescue. We are the hero of our own stories, so it’s time to lace up those boots, and hit the ground running. No more excuses. No more procrastination. It’s like the quote, “If not now, when? If not you, who?” Author sources of this quote remains debated but sources claim the author ranges from our late President John F. Kennedy to Hillel the Elder. The idea here is that we must be the ones who take charge of our own lives if we ever want to see things change or improve. Another quote comes to mind, “We must be the change we wish to see in the world.”
This Strawberry Supermoon is all about taking the initiative towards improvement, betterment, and self empowerment. And it especially hits us where we place value on the things, people, and places most important to us. Capricorn is an Earth sign, and reminds us we need to stay grounded if we’re to see things clearly. We need to know where to plant our roots, what family really means to us, and how we expect to build something solid with the people we love going forward.
Emphasis is on house and home, family dynamics, career choices, and, personal goals and drive. Some of us will feel more inspired to think long term and put our money where our mouth is. This could lead to some of us buying a new home, investing in real estate, making long term financial portfolio investments, and learning more about personal self care. On the flipside, those who have shown little investment towards us are going to either have to work harder to stay in our lives, or Spirit is going to remove them from us, so we stay loyal to our goals without distraction.
The value we assign to the things, people, and places most important to us is going to come under a microscope, illustrating more details that we may have overlooked before. We may discover a deeper resonance with people we took for granted, and vice versa, we may discover that the people in our lives have less depth and can only offer us shallow experiences. We have to ask ourselves what really matters and what’s really important. And that’s where we are going to put more attention on where we spend our time most. Jobs should be labors of love. If they lack passion, and especially lack financial return for the efforts we invest, it’s time to look elsewhere for our needs to be met. Some of us may go through job changes, and even changes in our major’s if we’re still at University or in school.
Financially it’s good to trim the fat with excess spending, temporary pleasures, and “stuff” we just don’t need to keep paying for. Now that Mercury is direct again, we can expect better results if we need to invest in new gadgets, computers, internet service, phone service, or communication devices.
Put energy into what works for you, and cut off the energetic pathways to what no longer serves your highest good. Simplify and streamline where you are investing yourself, and you’ll soon discover amazing new options that you may have never considered before. Spirit wants to help you develop new skills to add your wheelhouse, so that you can attain bigger goals and bring those dreams within reach.
